I am a Geotechnical Engineer (MSc & BSc) with over 16 years’ experience of working in the maritime, rail, energy, water and port infrastructure sectors in the UK and overseas. I am also a Chartered Engineer, Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (CEng MICE) and a UK Registered Ground Engineering Professional.
I currently lead the Geotechnical Discipline within the wider Civil Department at MHB Consultants.
My experience includes managing the geotechnical input into projects from both commercial and technical aspects. This includes preparation of geotechnical proposals outlining the scope of work, identifying the ground engineering risks, scoping ground investigation, preparing specifications, site supervision and undertaking geotechnical design for various structures. This includes embedded and gravity type retaining walls, flood protection embankments and walls, shallow and deep foundations for various structures, slope stability analysis, ground improvement schemes and coast protection structures.
I have also extensive experience in managing the interface between the geotechnical team and the wider project team, the principal designer and/or the client and overseeing/providing guidance and support to junior geotechnical engineers working with me. I am experienced in creating geotechnical risk registers and maintaining them during the project development. I manage budgets and change control to make sure the projects run in parallel with the client scope and agreed budget.
