Mark Toye is one of the UK’s most respected leaders in ground investigation and geotechnical engineering. With over 27 years of experience and a career dedicated to raising industry standards, Mark is currently Managing Director of Ground Investigation for England & Wales at Igne. A Chartered Geologist and Chair of both the British Drilling Association and the Ground Forum, Mark has played a pivotal role in transforming standards across the drilling and geoscience sectors.

He has led major infrastructure projects, including the HS2 GI Framework and the Lower Thames Crossing, bringing deep insight into risk allocation, data management, and collaboration across complex delivery environments. At the forefront of innovation, compliance, and safety, Mark is a vocal advocate for better data sharing practices and more equitable distribution of project risk - essential for reducing inefficiencies, disputes, and delays in geotechnical delivery.
